Photo Gallery | Strong Armed Robbery in Portsmouth

 

 On 02-19-13 at 2:45 p.m. the Portsmouth Police Department responded to Market Basket at 1465 Woodbury Ave. for a reported unarmed robbery.  The investigation and surveillance video showed a female victim have her purse forcefully taken from her while in the store by an unidentified female.  The victim and suspect then got into a struggle for the purse which resulted in the purse and its contents spilling on the floor.  An unidentified male then took the victim’s wallet from her purse and the male and female suspects fled the store. The descriptions of the two suspects are as follows:  1. White female in her late 20’s to early 30’s with long dark hair wearing a black and white winter jacket, blue jeans and carrying a large handbag. 2.   White male in his mid 20’s with a dark colored beard wearing a black Carhart style jacket with blue jeans and black sneakers.  The surveillance video showed that the suspects may have been targeting other shoppers in the store before the robbery occurred. If you have any information concerning this investigation, please call Officer Christopher Kiberd at (603) 610-7504. You can also contact Seacoast Crime Stoppers by leaving an anonymous tip at (603)431-1199 or at seacoastcrimestoppers.org.
