Participate on a guided tour to Second Hill

Participate on a guided tour to Second Hill, Saturday, July 30th from 10am to 1pm. Did you know Mount A has three hills? As part of a Nature Walk Series being offered this year, we will focus on tree identification along the way to Mount A’s Second Hill! Mount A is a natural mixing ground where southern and northern forests meet and is home to many different tree species. During this fun and educational hike we’ll take a closer look at leaves, bark, buds, seeds and more to aid in identification. A $5 dollar donation is suggested for this hike. Plan to meet at the summit Learning Lodge. Also, don’t miss the 5th and final Nature Walk scheduled on August 13th: Third Hill Brush Walk. Stay tuned for more information! Please reserve your spot for the July work party and/or the nature walk in advance by contacting Kristina Clements: kristina@agamenticus.org or 207-361-1102.

The Music Man Starring Peter Scolari to Open at the Ogunquit Playhouse July 20th!

There’s Trouble in River City… Yes, the critically acclaimed Broadway classic, The Music Man marches onto the Ogunquit Playhouse stage July 20 through August 20. Starring Emmy Award winner Peter Scolari as Harold Hill, Meredith Willson’s all-American favorite follows the fast-talking traveling salesman as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a town band he vows to organize – this despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef!

Have You Ever Been Kiteboarding?

Have You Ever Been Kiteboarding?

Today as I was doing some "work" AKA blogging from Pine Point Beach in Scarborough I thoroughly enjoyed watching a couple of the kiteboarders that were cruising up and down the beachy coast. They were flying! Literally, at times! I realized that kiteboarding [I was calling it wind surfing until a friend corrected me] was one of those extreme sports that I will most likely never try... I'd panic, let go and jump off the board before I started flying through the air, but not that guy! It was FUN to watch!

I did a little research and found MASSkiting, which is New England's premiere kiteboarding resource. It definitely is NOT a beginners sport, so make sure you do your research before you start kiteboarding up & down the Eastern seaboard! ;)
