Historic Wells house moved down Route 1
WELLS, Maine (AP) - Drivers who spotted a house in the middle of Route 1 in Wells weren't seeing things.

The road closed for a couple hours Friday as the historic Storer Garrison House is moved just a few hundred feet.
A section of Route 1 was closed while Central Maine Power Co., FairPoint, Time Warner and Maine Fiber lowered lines during the move.
The Storer Garrison House was built in 1816 with timbers from the garrison that protected residents during a three-day attack in 1692.
The house is being moved to the new owner's property.
