YORK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Friends and coworkers of a woman killed in Thursdays shootings in Greenland, New Hampshire are holding a vigil Sunday in her memory.
The New Hampshire Attorney General's office confirmed yesterday that the woman is 26 year old Brittany Tibbetts from South Berwick, Maine.
Brittany's family describes her as a caring person, a great singer, and a star athlete. She was the Gatorade Softball a player of the year in high school, and aspired to own her own hair salon one day.
This vigil was organized by her former coworkers from Hair Excitement in Newington New Hampshire, where Tibbetts worked for five years. Tibbetts cousin says he hopes this vigil helps the public to understand that Chief Maloney was not the only victim in this shooting.
"Obviously he's still in our hearts and prayers," explained Aaron Whittier, Tibbetts' cousin, "We just want to get the word out that she was a victim also. She was murdered just like he was, and that's what's important to us."
On Saturday, the New Hampshire Attorney General's office released the results of an autopsy on Tibbetts which confirmed that her death was a homicide.
