York Elementary receives letter containing white powder | News

YORK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - The Town of York is the latest in a string of communties around the Northeast to receive letters containing white powder.
The powder was deemend harmless and turned over to the F.B.I.
Monday, a letter that was supposed to go to the principal of Coastal Ridge mistakenly showed up at the York Street Elementary School.
Students were held out of the school for a few minutes until police deemed the powder harmless.
A similar letter was also sent to the Fort Kent Elementary School.
Other envelopes have shown up at schools in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
