The York County Shelter Programs

The York County Shelter Programs

The York County Shelter Programs, an emergency
homeless shelter in Alfred, Maine, would appreciate
the donation of a working evaporator and condenser
unit for a 10'x12' walk-in freezer.  The use of television converter
boxes have resulted in very poor or no television reception at the
Shelter. The donation of a basic Time Warner cable service
that would enable the residents to have the opportunity
to watch the news and some programs would be
greatly appreciated. Please call Mary Doyle at 324-1137
or email Mary at mqdoyle@gmail.com if you can help
with either one of these needs.

Police say blizzard a factor in deadly crash

WELLS, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Police say the storm conditions were likely a factor in the crash that killed Richard Folsom of Wells.

Wells Police say Folsom, 59, was driving down a straight away stretch of Wire Road around 7:30 PM when his car left the road and hit a tree head on.

Folsom was the only person in the vehicle.  He was taken to Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford where he was pronounced dead.

Police say unsafe speed and blizzard conditions are the causes of the accident.
